In the mouth, the wine is supple and juicy, without being heavy or overbearing. I like it a lot. It manages silk and weightlessness, not something I thought I'd ever write about this varietal mix—and certainly not from Barossa. Yet here we are. This is a lovely wine. 14.4% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.

James Suckling | 92 Points

Savory and robust aromas of blackcurrants, cedar, plum compote, baking spice and granite. There is depth and concentration here, along with serious intensity which rides the journey for the full length. More subdued with a furrowed brow, this is a wine that takes its time to show its best self so a decant is certainly on the cards. Pretty scents of dried red petals make an early statement with plummy fruit, red currants, black cherries, baked strawberries and a little Cherry Ripe goodness. Woodsy spices and dabbles of earthiness move into the frame late with some cedar and clove not far from the action. This is a wine that would be comfortable on the table beside a Sunday roast beef.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0550/4188/4321/files/2023HobbsofBarossa_SATinLidsShirazCabernet_1.png?v=1747378940
