COLOUR
Dark magenta
NOSE
Rich and layered, opening with intense aromas of blackberry compote, dark cherry, and plum, intertwined with notes of dried fig, raisin, and subtle hints of cocoa and sweet spice.
PALATE
Full-bodied and velvety, with rich dark fruit layered with liquorice, espresso, and subtle spice. Fresh and dried fruit characters add complexity, supported by fine tannins and balanced acidity, leading to a long, persistent finish. A powerful yet refined Shiraz, showcasing both the generosity of the Barossa and the intricate layers achieved through this traditional Italian technique.
WINEMAKING
Amarone-style Shiraz made from hand-picked grapes placed into 10 kg buckets and rack-dried in a purpose-built, insulated shed with high-intensity air fans. Drying time varies each year depending on grape ripeness, temperature, humidity, and flavour development, gradually concentrating the fruit and increasing Baumé by 0.5°–1.5° while preserving natural acidity. After drying, the grapes are processed into wine and matured in French oak for 18 months, resulting in a rich, concentrated style with depth and complexity.
